What is the minimum age of a child to join swimming with dolphin in the pool?
Because of safety precaution children under age of 2 years are not allowed to enter the dolphin pools and swim with dolphins. Therapy treatments for children under this age will be held on the edge of the dolphin pool with visual and touching contact to the dolphins under supervision of a therapist.
How many people can enter the pool and how long last the swimming?
Usually we assemble groups of max. 6 - 8 people at the dolphin pool from there are max. 2 person swimming at one time in the pool with the dolphins for max. 20 minutes.
Should I have a reservation for swimming with the dolphins?
As a walk-in guest at high season (July, August, September and 15 November
till 15 January) you better place a reservation for swimming with the dolphins otherwise we can't guarantee that you're able to swim with the dolphins at the same day you show up because we preference our in house hotel guest first for bookings for swimming with our dolphins.
How deep is the water in the pool? approx. 5 meter
Opening times for swimming with dolphins?
Our dolphin pool opening times from 9am till 4pm.
Are there showers and changing cubicle for walk in guests?
Schowers and changing cubicles for dolphin therapy guests and swimming with dolphins are available close to the dolphin pool area.
How I have to act in the pool and around the pool area?
- Please follow always the orders of the instructors
- Menstruating woman may not enter the pool.
- Swimmers must complete and sign the rquired safety and risk managment form prior entering the pool.
- Please do not touch the head, eyes, fins or beak of the dolphins. Do not reach out for the dolphins - wait till they come to you.
- Keep legs together and float on your back.
- All swimmers have to be accompanied by our instructors.
- For health and safety of our dolphins you have to shower and remove every jewellery from your body before you enter the pool. No sun creme, parfume, deodorant or any oils should be on your body.
- About privacy matter please don't make photo shots or video from other guest during they swimming with dolphins nor take pictures during a dolphin therapy treatment with disabled persons.
- Please shut down you handphones in the dolphin pool area - the radiation ist very confusing for our dolphins.
Safety, responsibility, guardians, insurance?
When you check in for our dolphin swimming program you will be asked to sign a document as you to oblige to accept and follow the above listed rules for swimming with dolphins and the swimming with dolphins will be held on your wish without any responsibility of Melka Excelsior Hotel.
